RAY WILKINS IN COMA
F ormer England captain Ray Wilkins is seriously ill after suffering a cardiac arrest. The 61 year-old is said to have been placed in an induced coma after falling and hitting his head after suffering the heart attack at home in Cobham, Surrey, on Wednesday. “He’s in hospital, he’s had a cardiac arrest and is in intensive care,” Wilkins’ wife, Jackie, “He is not in a good state at all, I’m afraid. He’s critically ill. The cardiac arrest led to a fall which has meant he’s had to be put in an induced coma. It’s very, very bad.” Wilkins, who played for Chelsea, Manchester United, QPR and Glasgow Rangers during his illustrious career, had previously been given the all-clear after undergoing a double heart bypass operation last July.
