The Blues are offering a mammoth new deal to the World Cup winner as they attempt to see off interest from the Ligue 1 champions N'Golo Kante has been offered a new five-year deal that would make him the highest-paid player in Chelsea's history up to now, amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona. After a String of Governorship Losses PDP Resolves to Change its Name

SOURCE: THISDAY NEWS After suffering a string of losses in the last four governorship elections – Edo, Ondo, Anambra and Ekiti, and  in a  pre-emptive move designed to prevent the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from tagging it as corrupt, the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), has finally resolved to change its name ahead of the 2019 general election. THISDAY learnt that PDP, which planned to announce the decision to change its name today, had also pencilled down Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu as the one to head a committee that would walk the party through the procedure. Many of the party’s stalwarts have been worried by how the ruling APC had successfully branded the party as corrupt in the eyes of Nigerians and admitted that, a rebranding was imperative to mount a successful challenge in 2019. ATIKU DECLARES HIS AMBITION

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Saturday in Adamawa formally declared his bid for the 2019 presidential election. Abubakar is vying for president on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. His declaration, held at the Ribadu Square in Yola, was witnessed by a mammoth crowd, which included leaders of the PDP from all the geo-political zones of the country. ITS BEEN 49 YEARS July 16 1969, journey to the moon started and took the team 3 days . July 19, APOLLO 11 enters orbit around the moon. The LUNAR module, nicknamed THE EAGLE separates from the command module and begins its descent. After a few time, the EAGLE landed. 7 hours after landing, Armstrong steps out of the LUNAR module. When they were leaving, they left behind an america flag along with medals honoring those who lost their lives in the earlier space tests and message of goodwill from 73 countries. TIME TO GO HOME The LUNAR module rejoined the command module and headed back. APOLLO 11 came back to earth at 25,000 MPH. The crew was welcomed home with rescue divers and thunderous applause.
