THE DEATH OF TINUBU'S SON, JIDE
Senator Gbenga Ashafa,
representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Kwara State Governor, Dr.
Abdulfatah Ahmed, Joe Igbokwe, All Progressives Congress, APC, Publicity
Secretary, Lags chapter, were among other Nigerians to express condolences to
APC National Chieftain and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed
Tinubu over the sudden death of his son, Jide Tinubu, describing it as “a
colossal loss.”
The deceased, Jide was said to have developed heath
complication and died on his way to the hospital. He had since been buried
according to Muslim rites. In a condolence message, Senator Ashafa, stated, “I
received with shock and great sadness earlier today the news of the demise of
Mr. Jide Tinubu, the son of our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. “My heart
and prayers are with Asiwaju and his family at this time of grief. May the
soul of Mr. Jide Tinubu Rest In Perfect Peace. Amen.” Governor Ahmed observed
with dismay that the sudden death had denied the country the service of a
promising and resourceful legal practitioner. The statement further said, “it
is sad and a great loss for parents to lost their children”. Ahmed therefore,
urged the National leader to take solace in the fact that death is an
inevitable end of all mortals. The Governor, who prayed God to grant the
deceased eternal rest, also prayed Almighty Allah to grant the parents the
fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Also, Igbokwe, in a condolence message,
sympathized with Tinubu, saying, “With heavy hearts, we sympathize with our
leaders, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu over the loss of his first son,
Jide. “The news came as a rude shock to us at a time like this. Death of young
people like Jide whose parents are alive leaves a deep pains that will not go
away too easily. “When our leader Asiwaju is happy we are happy with him, when
he weeps, we weep also, when he is in pains, we are in pains also. “May God
grant Asiwaju and the entire Tinubu family the fortitude and the courage to
bear this great loss.”
