ANOTHER TRAGIC WEDNESDAY IN LAGOS

Looking back to December 26th , 2006 at Awori bus stop , Abule egba , Lagos state, there was a fire outbreak that claimed the lives of over 100 people and properties worth millions of naira lost.

at exactly 3:20 am today December 19th 2018, lives and properties lost again. This time, maybe in double folds. It was gathered that the explosion was as a result of pipeline VANDALISM. The explosion started from Awori Bus Stop and extended to Abule Egba Bus Stop and Abattoir .
An eyewitness said the outbreak arose from the vandals scooping fuel from a vandalised pipeline adding that the incidence was a reoccurrence of what happened in 2006.













It was gathered that residents were scooping fuel from the spillage and in the process there was a spark which resulted in an inferno, consuming everything along its’ path.
According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency response unit on its verified Twitter handle, the fire started as a result of spillage from what appears to be bunkering activities, which came in contact with an ignitable source. The impact resulted in inferno as it ravaged houses and cars.
“Situation report regarding the oil spillage at Tipper Garage Bus Stop Abule Egba On arrival at the incident scene, the spillage from what appears to be bunkering activities came in contact with an ignitable source. The impact resulted in inferno as it ravaged houses and cars,” they tweeted.
An eyewitness narrated that the timely response of emergency officials prevented the fire from spreading to a petrol filling station close to the scene of the incident.

Sango was a royal ancestor of the Yoruba as he was the third king of the Oyo Kingdom. He succeeded Ajaka, son of Oranmiyan. His symbol is a double-headed axe, which represents swift and balanced justice. Mythologically, he (and 14 others) burst forth from the goddess Yemaja’s body after her son, Orungan, attempted to rape her for the second time. In another set of stories, Sango is the son of Aganju and Obatala. As the story goes, Obatala, the king of the white cloth was travelling and had to cross a river. Aganju, the ferryman and god of fire, refused him passage so Obatala retreated and turned into a woman and traded his/her body for passage (this would later become a conspiracy theory about homosexuality existing even in the days of old). This tension between reason represented by Obatala and Aganju would form the foundation of Sango’s particular character and nature.
